Joel Osteen Devotional 23 April 2025 Inspirational Message
Today’s Topic: Don’t Believe the Forever Lies
Scripture: So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. – 1 Peter 1:6, NLT
Today’s Word: God never says that we won’t go through trials, through hardships, through unfair situations. But Peter says that it is just for a little while. He doesn’t say “years from now” that your faith is going to be shown genuine and purified like gold. No, in just a little while you’re going to see God do something awesome in your life.
In just a little while your health is going to turn around, your child will get back on course, you’ll overcome the addiction. Don’t believe the forever lies that the enemy loves to whisper. “It’s going to be years before…” He’s trying to get you discouraged, doubting what God can do, to where you give up on your dreams.
Don’t fall into that trap. God says in just a little while what you’re believing for is going to show up. Keep that playing in your mind. It’s not permanent, but in a little while. That’s how you wait with expectancy for the joy that’s ahead, knowing that in just a little while the God you serve is going to show up.
Prayer For Today “Father, thank You that the trials I go through are but for a little while, and You have purposed to use them for my eternal good. Thank You that You are the God of all grace and that You will bring me through them to the wonderful joy that’s ahead. I believe that greater is coming. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
TODAY’S INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE: That promotion you didn’t get. How long are you going to be upset over that? God has a better position. That medical report that hasn’t changed. You’ve done all you can. Quit worrying. Quit living frustrated. One of the best things I’ve learned is to not fight everything you don’t like: fight the closed doors, fight the person that did you wrong, fight the delays. We end up living in a fighting mode, where we’re always frustrated. God says, “Come to me…I will give you rest.” Rest in Him. Say, “God, You’re in control. I’m going to do my best and trust You.”
God being silent doesn’t mean that He’s not there. That’s when you have to show God you’re going to trust Him even when you don’t hear Him, you’re going to keep believing even though nothing is changing. When heaven is silent, you have to go back to what God promised you. “God, I’m in Gethsemane. I’m dealing with this illness. Lord, You said that You’re Jehovah Rapha, the Lord my healer, that You would restore health back unto me.
God, I’m suffering with this child that’s breaking my heart, but You said, as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. God, I feel overwhelmed with this situation at work, these people have done me wrong, but God, I know You’re my vindicator. You said many are the afflictions of the righteous, but You deliver me out of them all.” Listen now to this new message from Joel, “Grace for Gethsemane”: https://bit.ly/3rn12Nj
