Today’s Topic: Troubles Serve You

Scripture: Your faithfulness extends to every generation, like the earth you created; it endures by your decree, for everything serves your plans. – Psalm 119:91, TLB

Today’s Word
Today’s Scripture says that “everything serves God’s plan.” It doesn’t say that it’s just the good things that happen. I wonder if you’re upset about something that’s actually serving His plan. Perhaps it’s a door that didn’t open, or it’s a person who walked away, or a delay that you didn’t see coming and doesn’t make sense. Perhaps it’s the coworker who gets on your nerves and you’ve prayed for six years that God would move to another business, but they’re still not moving.

Stay in peace. Understand that they are serving you. God is using your coworker like sandpaper to rub the rough edges off you. You’re learning to be patient, to be kind, to overlook offenses. It’s a part of His plan. You may feel as though something is hindering you, but really it’s helping you. It looks as though it’s setting you back, but really it’s setting you up for something that you haven’t seen. God knows what you’re going to need in the future. Even what was meant for your harm is being turned to your advantage. Trust Him.

Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that You are able to make all things serve me for my good, even the negative things that stress me out and seem to be holding me back. Thank You that I can stay in peace and trust the process. I believe that You are working out Your plan for my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

TODAY’S INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE: Jesus went to dinner with Zacchaeus. He didn’t berate him; He didn’t tell him everything he was doing wrong. Jesus simply loved him; He showed him mercy. He became his friend. That day was a turning point. Zacchaeus said, “I’m going to quit cheating people. I’m going to quit being dishonest and I’m going to start helping others.” Zacchaeus changed his ways, not because he was shamed into it, but because he was loved into it. The Scripture says, “It’s the goodness of God that leads to repentance.”

You have to be more determined than the enemy. When the going gets tough, the tough have to get going. Maybe you let that setback, that breakup, that loss, not just steal your joy but take your praise. The Scripture says, “God inhabits the praises of His people.” You’re wondering when God is going to do something, but God is waiting for you to send up some praise. Your praise will draw in the Most-High God. He doesn’t inhabit your fears, your doubts, your complaints, your worries. Praise is what causes God to work.
