The Spirit of God
Scripture: For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. – 2 Timothy 1:7, NIV
Today’s Word
In 2 Kings 6, the king of Aram was so angered by the way the prophet Elisha was exposing his plans to the Israelites that he sent a whole army of troops and chariots to capture him. The king recognized that although this one man had no weapons and was not in the military, he was very powerful because he was filled with the Spirit of God. Because the Spirit of God lives in you, even the enemy knows how powerful you are. He can see that you’re not weak, you’re not average, and you’re not lacking.
How much further will you go, how much more will you accomplish, how many giants will you defeat, if you start seeing yourself for who you really are. There is a force breathing in your life that is greater than any force trying to stop you. There’s not a giant you can’t defeat, an obstacle you can’t overcome, an addiction you can’t break. There is a power working in you that’s not of your own ability. It’s the Spirit of the living God. It’s resurrection power.
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You for coming to dwell within me by Your Spirit. Thank You that You have given me a spirit of power and courage to stretch and become all You created me to be. I declare that I will not let fear keep me from accomplishing all that You call me to do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
TODAY’S INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE: You have to walk by faith and not by sight. If you walk by sight, you’ll talk yourself out of it because 11:30 at night doesn’t look any different than midnight. Everything you can see, feel, touch, smell looks just the same. There’s no evidence that it’s a new day. But the Psalmist said, “The moment you pray, the tide of the battle turns.” You can’t see it, but when you prayed, you left the PM and you came into AM. It’s a new day. You may not be able to see any sign of it, but that’s okay. Victory begins in the dark.
There’s not another person in this world like you. The enemy would love for you to go through life trying to be an imitation, copying someone else that you think is more attractive, more gifted, more successful. No, be you. Nobody can do you like you can do you. You’re not anointed to be someone else. The anointing on your life, the favor, the blessing is to be you. You won’t activate the favor, you won’t see the abundance if you’re trying to be something that you’re not, feeling wrong on the inside because you’re not like someone else.
