Today’s Topic: How You See Yourself
Scripture: The angel of the LORD appeared to him and said, “Mighty hero, the LORD is with you!…Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!” – Judges 6:12, 14, NLT
Today’s Word
God called Gideon a mighty hero while he was hiding in a winepress, afraid, intimidated by the Midianite army. God called him to be a deliverer, a history maker, when he saw himself as limited, inferior, at a disadvantage, unable to do it. Gideon started making excuses. His weak, defeated mentality almost kept him from his destiny. After some more encouragement, he finally made this switch and saw himself as powerful.
The question is, how do you see yourself? Do you see yourself as strong, confident, and favored, or as Gideon saw himself? Are you seeing everything else as powerful, but not yourself? One touch of God’s favor can turn around whatever you’re facing. You’re looking at how big your problem is. You need to start looking at how big your God is. He says He’s with you, and He has made you a mighty hero. When thoughts come telling you that you’re weak, not enough, at a disadvantage, just say, “You have the wrong person. I know who I am. I’m a child of the Most High God, and that makes me very powerful.”
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You for the strength that rises within me whenever I remember how big You are and what You have done in my life. Thank You for the times You have delivered my mind from the clutter of fears and doubts. I believe that You are making me into a mighty hero. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
God is not going to let you miss your destiny. There will be times that you’re at your limits. You’ve done all you can. You’ve prayed, believed, worked hard, but it’s not improving. Don’t worry, God is speaking to the people you need who can do what you can’t do. Conversations are happening that you know nothing about. God is speaking to people to open doors for you, to bring contracts, to help turn problems around.
God knows not only who you’re going to need but when you’re going to need them. He is ordering the steps of the people who are necessary for your destiny. Quit worrying about how it’s going to work out. God is in control of your life. He’s working behind the scenes arranging exactly what you need. God knows how to make you stand out. He knows how to draw people to you.
You don’t have to try to get attention or make yourself be seen, so people know you’re there and what you can do. Be still and know that He is God.
