Joel Osteen Today 9 January 2025 Devotional Message
TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE BY JOEL OSTEEN 9TH JANUARY 2025
God has created you to be a victor, not a victim. Jump-start your day by celebrating the very best that God has for you! These daily inspirations will help you grow in your relationship with the Lord and equip you to be everything God intends you to be.
TOPIC: Strangers No More
Scripture: “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”
John 15:16, NIV
Today’s Word
We were strangers to God’s love. We didn’t deserve His mercy or measure up to His goodness, but the Scripture says, “Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ….You are no longer strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household” (Ephesians 2:13, 19).
Jesus says that we did not choose Him, but He chose us. God handpicked you. Now, you may feel you don’t fit in, you’re not good enough, you’re an outsider. None of that stops God. He still chooses you. You are so valuable and approved that Jesus gave His life for you. Thoughts will tell you, “You’ve made too many mistakes. You’re not qualified. You don’t come from a background of faith.” But God says, “That’s okay.
You’re exactly whom I’m looking for. I choose strangers. I choose people who don’t look like you’d expect, people who don’t perform perfectly, people with flaws and weaknesses. I see what’s in you. I know your potential. It’s My choice, and I chose you.”
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that You chose me to be Yours long before I chose You. I celebrate the fact that Jesus gave His life so I would no longer be a stranger to Your family. I believe and confidently declare that makes me very valuable and approved. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE: When Jesus rose from the grave, He appeared to His disciples, but Thomas wasn’t there. He said, “I’m not going to believe unless I see Him up close. Unless I feel the nail prints in His Hands and see the scars on His side.” Jesus appeared to him and said, “Thomas, you have believed because you have seen, but blessed are those who will believe and have not seen.” Don’t be a Thomas. “I have to see it up close.
When it’s right here, then I’ll believe.” No, be an Elijah and see it from a distance. Believe when it’s far away, when there’s no sign and it looks unlikely. That’s what it takes to become a hero of faith. That’s when you’ll see God show out in your life and do more than you imagined.
There may be things you’re believing for that seem far off, no sign in the natural. But like Abraham, you keep seeing it from a distance, trusting that God is working, welcoming that promise. God is going to do for you what He did for him. It may have been years. Thoughts are telling you, “It’s never going work out.” No, get ready. Breakthroughs are coming. Healing is coming. That baby is coming. Promotion is coming.
Suddenly things are going to change. You can’t explain it. It seemed like it was far away, but God knows how to accelerate things. He can speed up what should take years. One touch of His favor and what you see in the distance will become a reality. If Abraham were here, he would tell you, “Don’t get discouraged by the distance. Don’t quit believing because it seems far away. You are closer than you think. You are on the verge of seeing God do something that you’ve never seen.”
