TODAY’S JOHN HAGEE 6 MAY 2022 DAILY DEVOTIONAL
SCRIPTURE: ROMANS 8:31
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
What hope resides in today’s key verse! When it seems that everything is working against us – a deadly virus, enforced isolation, supply shortages, loss of income – God is right beside us.
Not one ounce of defeat can be found in this verse or the ones before and after it. Paul agrees that yes, we will suffer in this world, but it is nothing compared to the glory that awaits. We look with eager anticipation for what God will do on our behalf (Romans 8:18-25).
Paul says that yes, we will experience weaknesses, but the Spirit will help us (Romans 8:26). His power shines through most brightly at those points (II Corinthians 12:9).
The Psalmist declared that it was good that he had been afflicted because he learned to trust in God’s Word (Psalm 119:71), to run to the secret place of the Most High, and to dwell under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1).
The sun came up and we are breathing, so God has a purpose for us. For the person who might be feeling overwhelmed or defeated, turn to the Lord for His provision and peace.
God is for us. God is in our corner. God is championing us. God has created us to be more than conquerors (Romans 8:37)!
Blessing: May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May every defeat turn into a declaration of victory. May your sorrow turn into dancing. May all hopelessness bow to the authority of Jesus’ name.
