TODAY’S JOYCE MEYER DEVOTIONAL 23 MAY 2022, MONDAY
TOPIC: DON’T GET STUCK IN A MOMENT
SCRIPTURE: “He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters. He refreshes and restores my life (myself)….” Psalm 23:2-3 (AMPC)
Your future has no room for your past, and I encourage you not to get stuck in a moment in your life that is over. God is a Redeemer and a Restorer. He promises to restore our souls, and He will—if we invite Him in and cooperate with His healing process in our lives.
When Psalm 23 says He makes us lie down and leads us beside still and restful waters, it reminds me that God wants us to have peace. In order to do that, we need to stop running from the past and simply make a decision to be still, face the past, and receive healing from God. As long as we are running, something is chasing us, but if we confront it with God by our side, then we can defeat it and enjoy the new life that is ours in Christ.
Prayer Starter: Lord, help me to stop running and confront whatever is trying to defeat me so that I can enjoy the life You have for me, amen.
