TOPIC: COPING WITH DARK SEASONS”.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Kings 8:1-66; Acts 7:51-8:13; Psalm 129:1-8; Proverbs 17:1

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Psalm 126
When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.
The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south.
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

MEMORY VERSE: 1 Peter 1:6

“Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations.”

MFM Daily Devotional 11th June 2025 Message

No matter what happens, light comes after darkness. God has a word of comfort for you in today’s devotional. As far as problems are concerned, there is always an upside to every downside. The downside may look ugly, but it is a pointer to a corresponding upside. The fact that there is a valley reminds you that there is a mountain nearby. When you go lower in life, there is an equal opportunity, if discovered, to go higher. Any low season has behind it a season that is upbeat. If you are presently grappling with your dry season, you should be reminded that a season of refreshing is near.

The Bible tells us that weeping may endure for the night but joy cometh in the morning (Psalm 30:5). Here, the Bible identifies two seasons of life: the morning and the night. The night may be dark, but the dawn of a new day will erase the clouds of darkness. No matter how long your season of weeping lasts, the morning of joy is at hand. Hence, those who mourn should take cognizance of the fact that a new morning of singing and dancing is at their doors.

I have a word for those who are complaining that their nights of weeping are extremely long: the advent of a bright morning will make every trauma pale into insignificance. How can we best appreciate the brightness of a morning, without an opportunity to compare it with the darkness of the night? If there were no nights of weeping, men and women would not be thankful for mornings of rejoicing. Without a test, there would be no testimony. Those who are in tears are being awaited with seasons of exhilarating joy. If you do not struggle with tears, you cannot savour the outburst of happiness.

The next time the skyline of your emotions is very dark, you must remind yourself that the sunshine of joy will soon be released upon you. Your downside will prepare a platform for your upside. Beloved, weeping may endure for a night; but your morning of joy is at hand. God will turn your situation around like one who is dreaming.

MFM Daily Prayer Points 11th June 2025

MORNING
O Lord, turn my sorrow to joy, in the name of Jesus.
O Lord, let my night of pain expire, in the name of Jesus.
My morning of joy, appear, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
Anything that has been planted in my life by witchcraft, come out now, in the name of Jesus.
I will not be swallowed up by harsh circumstances, in the name of Jesus.
I command every unpleasant season in my life to end now, in the name of Jesus.
O Lord, grant me a bountiful harvest of good things, in the name of Jesus.
