MFM Daily Devotional 21st March 2021 Online – Steward And Accountability In Parenting
You are reading Today, Sunday 21st March 2021 MFM Daily Devotional Online written by Pastor D. K. Olukoya.
TOPIC: STEWARDSHIP AND ACCOUNTABILITY IN PARENTING
Fire Scripture: Psalm 127:1-5
Today’s Outline: Are you a biological or spiritual parent or guardian? The Lord is speaking to you in today’s message. He has committed this divine duty into your care. He expects some due returns. I pray you shall not fail Him, in the name of Jesus. If the Bible says that children are a gift from the Lord, then parents are like caretakers, minding the children on behalf of God, with the mind that as stewards of the Lord over the children, accountability is required. Your leadership starts from home.
Be that godly leader to lead your children or wards in the right path of life. As stewards, therefore, you must point the children to their heavenly Father who created them for a definite purpose. Ephesians 6:4 says, “And ye fathers provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Don’t be like Eli who failed God (1Sam 3:11-18).
The notion that parents own the children should be totally erased. Both parents and their children are created for God’s purpose. Parents are to teach and train their children and wards towards the purpose of God for them, to enable them fulfil destiny. They should also teach, guide and pray for them as they go along in the journey of life. God so much trusted Abraham that He boasted over his commitment in teaching his children in the way of the Lord.
Dear parent and beloved guardian, it is time you realised that your position is divine and God does not joke with the life of any growing child. The result is that God will ask you to give account over them. He is interested in how you train them. Beloved, what role are you playing in your children’s or wards’ lives? Remember, you will submit a record of activity of your stewardship over that child? Think about it. Will God give you a pass mark over that child? He belongs to God; let him know that.
Jesus said, “The Kingdom belongs to the children. This shows how important these little ones are to heaven. Don’t toy with their lives! Invest godly values into them, build them up as heritages unto the Lord (Ps 127:3a) and God will be delighted in you. Pass on the godly legacy of faith and trust in God. Let them know Him and be totally committed to Him.
Teach them to read the word of God and to pray. Let God become their best friend and confidant. Do your part and leave the rest to God.
Memory Verse: Prov. 22:6 – “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Motivational Quote: Children are your garments of honour. If you care for them, they will cover you in the future.
Prophetic Word: I pray that you shall not fall short of divine expectation over your children, in the name of Jesus.
HYMN
All things bright and beautiful
1. Each little flower that opens,
each little bird that sings
he made their glowing colours,
he made their tiny wings.
Chorus
All things bright and beautiful,
all creatures great and small,
all things wise and wonderful
the Lord God made them all.
2. The purple headed mountain,
the river running by,
the sunset, and the morning
that brightens up the sky:
3. The cold wind in the winter,
the pleasant summer sun,
the ripe fruits in the garden
he made them every one.
4. He gave us eyes to see them,
and lips that we might tell
how great is God almighty,
who has made all things well!.
