TOPIC: HOW TO DISCOVER YOUR GIFT (MFM Daily Devotional 22nd April 2021)

Fire Scripture: 2King. 2:1 – 15

OUTLINE: MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 23RD APRIL 2021

The Holy Spirit is the custodian of gifts and He gives to whosoever He wills. Baptism in the Holy Spirit comes along with gifts (Acts 10:45-46). Spiritual gifts are important parts of Christian life. God has provided each believer with spiritual gifts for the purpose of strengthening the body of believers and glorifying Him (Ephesian 4:7-8).

It is the responsibility of each of us to discover our gift so that we can become asset to the body of Christ (1Timothy 1:6). Elisha is an example of a young man that discovered his gift and used it to bless the body of believers. How? Reading through the text above, we discovered that he was very committed to the work of God and the servant of God.

He grew above distractions around him and in his walk with God. He was highly observant; he witnessed how his master parted Jordan. He was a man of vision and was very conscious of his need. Also, he was ready to pay the price for the hard thing he asked for. He was very sensitive to the Spirit of God.

A man of prayer, he was not a profane person like Esau. He was a man of faith and was bold as well as fearless. He believed in the God of Elijah, did what his master did in parting and crossing Jordan. It worked for him and he became a man of power. Beloved, Your gift, when discovered and put to use, will make you an asset to the body of Christ. God has blessed each of us with one gift or the other.

Do a study on the life of Elisha and prayerfully discover your gift today. The world is waiting for your manifestation. However, you cannot possess the gift of God if you are not born again. Surrender your life to God today. The gifts of God are meant to edify the body of believers; they are different from natural talents.

Memory Verse: 2 Timothy 1:6 – “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by putting on of my hands.”

Motivational Quote: You are yet to be a blessing to the body of believers until you discover your gift.

Prophetic Word: The Lord shall open your eyes of understanding to discover your gifts, in the name of Jesus.

HYMN: Come Down, O Love Divine.

1. Come down, O Love divine, Seek Thou this soul of mine,
And visit it with Thine own ardour glowing;
O Comforter, draw near, Within my heart appear,
And kindle it, Thy holy flame bestowing.

2. O let it freely burn, Till earthly passions turn
To dust and ashes, in its heat consuming;
And let Thy glorious light Shine ever on my sight,
And clothe me round, the while my path illuming.

3. Let holy charity Mine outward vesture be,
And lowliness becomes mine inner clothing
True lowliness of heart Which takes the humbler part,
And o’er its own shortcomings weeps with loathing

PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
1. Father, let every dormant gift in me be stirred up by the fire of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus.
2. I shake off every distraction that is preventing my spiritual growth, in the name of Jesus.
3. Father, sensitise my spirit to discover Your gift in me, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING:
4. Father, grant me grace to pay the price of greatness, in the name of Jesus.
5. Deliver me from profanity and frivolity, in the name of Jesus.
6. God has not given me the spirit of fear. I receive boldness to possess my possession, in the name of Jesus.
7. Lord, deliver me from spiritual laziness that will not allow me to discover my gift, in the name of Jesus.
