The Bible is replete with examples of bad friends who influenced the lives of people negatively. Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, succeeded his father. However, he had bad friends who contributed to his fall. Their bad advice sparked rebellion, leading to the loss of a greater part of Rehoboam’s kingdom.
Also, Amnon loss his life untimely because he had a bad friend called Jonacab. It was Jonadab’s bad advice that led Amnon to commit incense with his half-sister, Tamar. That mistake cost Amnon his life. Samson chose a wrong friend in Delilah; he lost his anointing and glorious ministry. Solomon befriended heathen women and they drew his heart away from God. The friendship between Ahab and Jehoshaphat almost cost the latter his life but for the grace of God. You must choose and walk with godly friends!
As a believer, God wants you to choose your friends wisely. Our fire scripture for today reveals that before Jesus Christ took that all-important decision of choosing His disciples, He prayed all night. Your friends and close associates will have great influence on your life positively or negatively. So, you must choose them prayerfully and wisely.
What criteria should you use in choosing your friends? The first criterion is that the person should be born again and God-fearing. An ungodly friend can lead you to sin, idolatry and rebellion against God. Do not walk in the company of fools. The second one is that the person should share the same godly vision you have or be your purpose partner. Anyone who opposes and works against your God-given vision or divine purpose should not be made your friend.
The fulfilment of your destiny and your progress in life will be hindered by an envious, uncooperative and unsupportive friend. Another quality you should consider in choosing a friend is integrity and reliability. Anyone who is given to deception, inconsistency and who cannot keep your secret will end up betraying you. A good friend will have the fear of God and live in absolute obedience to His word.

1. Thank You Lord for revealing this secret to me, in the name of Jesus.
2. Holy Spirit, come upon me mightily now, in the name of Jesus.
3. Every aura of darkness attracting the wrong people into my life, clear away by the wind of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus.

4. O Lord, encompass me with Your distinguishing fire, in the name of Jesus.
5. Every unfriendly friend programmed into my life through evil dreams, receive the arrow of confusion and depart now, in the name of Jesus.
6. O Lordmy Father, give me the right friends, in the name of Jesus.
7. Holy Spirit, make me a good friend to my friends, in the name of Jesus.
