MFM Daily Devotional 3rd February 2021 Today – Wisdom For Giving (II)

You are reading MFM Daily Devotional for Today Wednesday 3rd February 2021; written by Pastor D.K Olukoya. Be blessed and inspired by today’s reading.

TOPIC: WISDOM FOR GIVING (II)

SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 3:9-10

OUTLINE: MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 3RD FEBRUARY 2021 TODAY

Beloved, there are many lessons to learn from the biblical story on the offering of Cain and Abel that we read yesterday. God is not interested in leftovers. Abel, in giving, respected God’s principles. Cain did not. Abel’s offering prioritised God and it was love-based. Cain’s offering did not offer the first and the best to God. It lacked genuine love. God always honours and rewards those who respect or obey His principles and put Him first in all their affairs.

In addition, Abel acted by faith. This made his offering to be more excellent than Cain’s. Anything that is not of faith is sin. Abel’s faith birthed complete, unquestioning and prompt obedience: he offered the right kind of sacrifice that God demanded from him. It takes a Spirit-led believer to live by faith and please God. Cain, on the other hand, was carnally-minded and self-led. Hence, he could not submit to God’s word or fulfil His demand.

In 2021, let your offering, service, tithe, first fruits, worship and entire life prioritise God. Offer the utmost to the Highest. Give God the first and the best place as well as the first and best gifts in your life. Let all your sacrifices to Him be faith-based and love-based. Spirit-led believers put God first in their finances. They do not borrow, ‘eat’ or divert their tithes first fruits to mundane uses.

They neither engage in debates on whether New Testament believers should pay tithe or not, nor argue about whether they are to pay gross or net. Spirit-led believers are never stingy towards God and are never broke or stranded. They know that the more they give, the more they get. They give cheerfully and enjoy the covenant in Luke 6: 38. They are permanently connected to heaven’s economy and God’s inexhaustible treasure house.

I encourage you to join the blessed category of these Spirit-led givers and 2021 will mark the end of lack in your life!

Memory Verse: Matthew 6:33 – “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Motivational Quote: We must give more in order to get more.

Prophetic Word: Beginning from now, your storehouse shall continuously be filled to overflow, in the name of Jesus.

HYMN: Must I Go, And Empty Handed

1. “Must I go, and empty handed,”
Thus my dear Redeemer meet?
Not one day of service give Him,
Lay no trophy at His feet?

Chorus:
“Must I go, and empty handed?”
Must I meet my Saviour so?
Not one soul with which to greet Him:
Must I empty handed go?

2. Not at death I shrink nor falter,
For my Saviour saves me now;
But to meet Him empty handed,
Thought of that now clouds my brow.

3. O the years in sinning wasted,
Could I but recall them now,
I would give them to my Saviour,
To His will I’d gladly bow.

4. O ye saints, arouse, be earnest,
Up and working while yet ’tis day;
Ere the night of death o’ertake thee,
Strive for souls while still you may

PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING:
1. Father, help me to make my relationship with you love-based and faith-based, in the name of Jesus.
2. Father, make me a prompt, unquestioning and completely obedient Christian, in the name of Jesus.
3. O God, make me a cheerful, generous and untiring giver in Your Kingdom, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING:
4. Spirit of stinginess and hoarding, I bind and cast you out of my life, in the name of Jesus.
5. I overcome the devourer by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
6. I receive the key to God’s inexhaustible treasure house, in the name of Jesus.
7. I declare that my finances are connected to the economy of heaven, in the name of Jesus.
