TOPIC: FAITH LIKE A MUSTARD SEED (MFM Daily Devotional 2nd May 2021)

Fire Scripture: Matt 17:14-20

MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL MONDAY 3 MAY 2021 TODAY’S OUTLINE:

Every believer in Christ has been given a measure of faith by God. The believing faith comes with salvation. This is why though you do not see God or Jesus, you believe. Jesus declares such persons blessed (John 20:29); and as many as believe in Him, He gives power to them to become sons of God (John 1:12). This level of faith, though, can be termed an elementary kind of faith, yet it lays the foundation for greater manifestation of faith.

No wonder then that Jesus declared in the book of Matthew that though your faith is as small as the mustard seed, it has the power to cause mountains to be shifted. Awesome! The mustard seed is so small, but, amazingly, when planted and well nurtured, it will grow and mature into a mighty tree. The same is true of our faith in the Lord; though it is small, but when nourished by the word of God, well nurtured and rightly activated, it is capable of achieving great things.

Faith, no matter how small it may be, will move the hand of God and enable us to the miraculous. Knowing the importance of faith to our spiritual survival, Jesus taught His disciples deep lessons on having faith in God. The disciples wondered at the withering of the fig tree at the rebuke of Jesus. He, therefore, instructed them strongly on the power of faith in prayer (John 11:24).

That is, having a believing faith with the right attitude and in obedience to the word of God. The prayer of faith unlocks success in every dimension. This same mustard seed faith moves in the miracles of healing as Jesus ministered to the different people. For instance, blind Bartimaeus received his sight by faith; even the woman with the issue of blood strived to touch the hem of Jesus garment by faith and was healed. The Syrophoenician woman demonstrated great faith when she humbled herself before Jesus concerning her daughter’s situation, and she received her miracle.

Dearly beloved, are you ready to put your faith into action? Believe God when you pray. Refuse to be a doubting Thomas. Connect strongly to the word of God. Keep praying; remain steadfast and hopeful, no matter the situation. Though it may appear nothing is changing, keep trusting God and the mountains before you shall move and be reduced to plain, in the name of Jesus. The faith that overcomes shall be yours, in the name of Jesus.

Memory Verse: Heb. 11:1 – “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Motivational Quote: Faith speaks the language of God not man’s. Nurture it with the word of God and it will grow and mature.

Prophetic Word: Receive the faith that moves mountains, in the name of Jesus.

Hymn: Blessed Assurance

1. Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Chorus
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long.

2. Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

3. Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Saviour am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
1. Powers assigned to weaken my faith, die, in the name of Jesus.
2. Every spirit of unbelief, jump out and die, in the name of Jesus.
3. Lord Jesus, help my unbelief, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING:
4. I receive power to pray and receive answers, in the name of Jesus.
5. Thou mountain of problems in my life, be moved and be cast away, in the name of Jesus.
6. I pull down every stronghold of doubt and unbelief in my heart, in the name of Jesus.
7. Father Lord, give me great faith, in the name of Jesus.
