MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR 20TH NOVEMBER 2021 SATURDAY

TOPIC: SARDIS: THE DEAD CHURCH (II)

Fire Scripture: Rev. 3:1–6

MFM Daily Devotional for Saturday | Message

When the city of Sardis was surrounded by the enemies, instead of fighting back, they went to sleep, thinking that they were totally safe. They woke up and saw that the city had been captured. Although they were rich, the people of Sardis were very lazy and living in idle leisure. At the beginning, the church in the city was strong but a time came when they became like the people around them. The environmental influence rubbed off on them to their own disadvantage. So, they became lazy and prayerless. Throughout church history, there has always been a faithful few, as we read in (verse 4).

Jeremiah 23:3 talks about the Lord gathering the remnant of His flock out of all countries. These are those that have not defiled their garments with sin and unfaithfulness to God. Instead, they have remained spiritually pure, devoted to Christ and committed to His message. 2 Cor. 11:3 says, “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”

MOUNTAIN TOP LIFE DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY DR D.K OLUKOYA

Many people today no longer do the will of God, but that of the devil. The few that are standing for God are being persecuted, afflicted and denied of their rightful positions and portions, but God is still interested in you if you stand for Him. Do not allow the influence of a lifeless few to affect you: stand with God, look unto Him to perfect all that concerns you. The truth is that it is possible for an individual, a family, an organisation, a church to miss it. However, there is a way out. It is the way of repentance.

Dear, reader, repentance is returning to God wholeheartedly and genuinely and clinging to Him all the way. It is turning away from the old and sinful way. Repentance will prevent further death and decay from occurring in your life. Repentance will release God’s grace and power to revive and restore valuable things that are dead or lost. Repentance will make you a beloved of the Lord again and open the heavens for you! Beloved, stand with God so that your name will not be blotted out of the Book of Life.

Memory Verse:
2 Cor. 11:3 – But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Motivational Quote:
To walk with God is to live in abundance spiritually and physically.

Prophetic Word:
The spirit and power of hell shall not catch up with me, in the name of Jesus.

MFM Daily Devotional HYMN

  • Revive Thy work, O Lord!

1. Revive Thy work, O Lord!
Thy mighty arm make bare;
Speak with the voice that wakes the dead,
And make Thy people hear!

Chorus
Revive Thy work, O Lord,
While here to Thee we bow;
Descend, O gracious Lord, descend,
Oh, come and bless us now.

2. Revive Thy work, O Lord!
Disturb this sleep of death;
Quicken the smould’ring embers now
By Thine Almighty breath.

3. Revive Thy work, O Lord!
Create soul thirst for Thee;
And hung’ ring for the bread of life,
Oh, may our spirits be!

4. Revive Thy work, O Lord!
Exalt Thy precious name:
And by the Holy Ghost,
Our love For Thee and Thine inflame.
