TOPIC: YOU WILL STAND OUT
Scripture: “Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?” (1 Samuel 10: 1)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
In our Focal Scripture, Samuel took a vial of vial of oil and anointed Saul as captain over the Lord’s people. The oil that was used in Bible times had different components, including the cassia, cinnamon, myrrh, calamus, and the olive itself. All the other components are stirred into the oil, which is eventually called the olive oil. It is not called cassia oil, or cinnamon oil, or myrrh oil of calamus oil; it is called the olive oil.
So different components would have come together to create an oil, but just one component gets the recognition. Other components join in the labour, but the olive swallows all. Other components make contributions to make the oil a reality, but the olive gets the upper hand. Different ingredients make the efforts, but the olive is rewarded with recognition. Other ingredients join to shine, but the olive shines brighter than them all.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you will stand out ahead of your contemporaries and competitors. The things and people that are competing with you for attention and recognition will be overshadowed by you. Others may contribute their efforts but you will stand out ahead of them. Others may participate in a mission, but God will cause you to be recognized and rewarded ahead of them. You will shine brighter than those around you. You will be preferred.
Get set: you will shine brighter and brighter. You will stand on the mountain of relevance and influence; you will be sought after by the kings of this world; you will be recognized by those in the corridors of power; you will be considered ahead of others; you will be elevated ahead of others; you will be offered levels higher than others will be offered; you will shine brighter.
The grace for recognition is upon you: you will be recognized and sought after. You will shine and outshine your rivals. Your greatness shall overshadow your rivals.
Proverbs 4: 18 says: “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”
