OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 16 JULY 2021

TOPIC: THE LIVING SEED

Bible Reading: Mark 4:26-29

26. And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

27. And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

28. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

29. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

Memorise: For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12

OUTLINE: In the parable of the sower, Jesus explained the different categories of people who receive the word of God. The last category is the seed which fell on good soil, had roots, germinated and brought forth good fruits. Note that the seed is the word of God and the soil is your heart. Whenever you hear the word of God, the process of planting takes place.

So, for the seed to come alive in your heart, you must prepare your heart to receive it by being open minded. Dont try to second-guess the speaker when you hear the title of the message. Also, dont be so familiar with the word, God or the speaker that you put up a wall in your mind. Listen attentively to every message and meditate on it after because when you do, the word would be nurtured in your heart to bring forth fruit.

Jesus said in John 15:7: “If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”

The word can only abide when you meditate, then, produce fruits which could either be in the form of repentance or positive change.

Point: Lord, please make my heart fertile for Your word always.

Bible in One Year: Psalms 19:1-14, Psalms 20:1-9, Psalms 21:1-13, Acts 19:21-41

Hymns: WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD

1. When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who
will trust and obey.

CHORUS
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
but to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt nor a fear,
Not a sigh nor a tear,
Can abide while
we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and
obey.

4. But we never can prove
The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
For the favour He shows,
For the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust
and obey.

5. Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in
the way;
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and
obey.
