Our Daily Devotion For 7th May 2025 Wednesday
Title: When God Delays, He’s Preparing
Scripture: “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” — 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)
Reflection:
In a world wired for speed, waiting can feel like a burden. We pray, we hope, we believe—but sometimes it seems like heaven is silent. Yet God’s delays are not His denials. When He holds back, it is not to frustrate you but to form you.
Think of Joseph—sold into slavery, unjustly imprisoned, and yet in due time, lifted to power. God’s timing was perfect, even when Joseph couldn’t see the full picture. Sometimes the delay is God orchestrating the unseen, aligning the right people, places, and purposes.
Perhaps today you’re in a season of waiting. Don’t despise it. The soil doesn’t despise the rain before the harvest. Trust that the God who began a good work in you is still writing your story—and no delay is wasted in His hands.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your perfect timing. Help me to trust You even when answers seem delayed. Strengthen my heart to wait with faith, knowing that You are preparing something far greater than I can imagine. Let Your peace guard my heart as I rest in Your divine plan. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prophetic Declaration:
I declare that every delay in my life shall work in my favor. What seems slow is being divinely synchronized. I shall not miss my appointed time, and what God has spoken over me shall come to pass, in Jesus’ name!
