LESSON FORTY-FOUR (44)
TOPIC: TITHING
BIBLE TEXT: Malachi 3:8-10
[8]Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
[9]Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
[10]Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
HYMN FOR TODAY: Praise to the Lord the Almighty
MEMORY VERSE: A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord’ Leviticus 27:30
LESSON AIM: The teens should know about tithing and why they should pay their tithes?
CENTRAL TRUTH: One sure way of securing God’s blessings is by regular payment of our tithes.
INTRODUCTION: Tithing is a regular giving of one tenth of our income to God. This income may be monthly wages you receive, it may be a one-off profit made from a service rendered or contract done and it may be a harvest from our farm. Tithing is scriptural, it is a command from God and obedience to it brings tremendous blessings. When we look at the benefits outlined in Malachi 3: 8-12, you can see that when you pay your tithe and pay it regularly, you will not lack and you will have dominion.

STUDY GUIDE
IS TITHING COMPULSORY?
Yes! Jesus endorsed the principle of tithing. If Jesus taught that the top-ten percent of what we make is immediately set aside to give to God, then we set aside the top-ten percent and bring it to God. Tithing is compulsory because it is a commandment and you can’t walk in the fullness of God’s will and blessing if you don’t obey His commandment completely.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF TITHING?
1. You would not operate under a closed heaven the doors and windows of heaven would be continually opened to you.
2. You receive God’s overflowing blessings – Malachi 3:10
3. You preserve your blessings from devourers – Malachi 3:11
4. We become a generational blessing- Malachi 3:12
WHATARE THE DANGERS OF NOT PAYING TITHE?
1. The person is a robber – Malachi i3:8
2. The person is cursed – Malachi i3:9
3. The person will experience closed-heaven – Malachi 3:9
DISCUSSION: Are teens too young to pay tithe?
LIFE APPLICATION: You can start today, start small, you don’t have to Wait till you start earning big before you pay your tithe.
CONCLUSION: One of the blessings of tithing is that God will rebuke the devourer for our sake. Some things that are seen as devourers in the life of Christians especially teenagers include sicknesses, academic failure (teenagers to mention more). Cry unto God today to rebuke these devourers while you make up your mind to start paying your tithe regularly.
