Today’s Outline For Scripture Union Daily Guide 10 November 2022
We so often say things without thinking of the wider implications. When the forty men were plotting to kill Paul, they had no idea that his nephew overheard them and would leak the information. They were confident they would succeed. Notice the religious gown with which they covered their evil action (vs.14‐15). Fasting this is similar to what many Islamic fundamentalists do today.
They kill and claim to be doing it for Allah, their god. Thank God for His intervention. Like Paul, we too are always assured of His protection. Proverbs 18:10 is so true for every child of God. Paul had no idea what they were planning but because he was genuine and sincere, God was fighting his battles for him in the best way. We only need to put our trust in the One who is our Keeper.
He neither slumbers nor sleeps. It was He who positioned Paul’s nephew to hear of the plot and report it. We are serving the same God. Are you confronted with circumstances that can lead to death? You need not be fearful of the future! God is able and faithful to defend you.
