Scripture Union Daily Guide 14 September 2025 Outline
Zion (The Church and believers are seen here as Zion) is now in distress, but a time of relief is coming. Observe the promises in Psalms 102:16-18. This promise was fulfilled to Israel after 70 years in Babylonian captivity (Daniel 9:1). Israel, as a nation, exists today as a testimony to the faithfulness and mercy of God. God will also answer our prayers and rebuild His Church for His own glory (Psalms 102:19-22). This is a promise of transition from our present state of despair to hope, unveiling a profound anticipation of God’s restoration and the future reign of Christ (cf. Revelation 21:1-8). How should this assurance impact our perspective of the future? In the light of this, how should we live (Titus 2:11-14)? Read Psalms 102:25-27 again.
Notice the contrast between the temporary nature of this world, and the enduring nature of God. How does the unchanging nature of God comfort us in the face of uncertainties and constant changes in our world (see James 1:17)? Despite the chaos, uncertainty, and troubles that we face now, as believers, we should find hope in God’s enduring nature and the assurance of Christ’s eternal rule, knowing that in Him, our future is secure.
What Next?
In moments of uncertainty, anchor your life in the unchanging character of God.
Insight

Praise waits in Zion, Lord, for Thee
1. Praise waits in Zion, Lord, for Thee;
There shall our vows be paid:
Thou hast an ear when sinners pray,
All flesh shall seek Thine aid.
2. Lord, our iniquities prevail,
But pardoning grace is Thine,
And Thou will grant us power and skill
To conquer every sin.
3. Blessed are the men whom Thou wilt choose
To bring them near Thy face,
Give them a dwelling in Thine house,
To feast upon Thy grace.
4. In answering what Thy Church requests
Thy truth and terror shine,
And works of dreadful righteousness
Fulfill Thy kind design.
5. Thus shall the wondering nations see
The Lord is good and just;
And distant islands fly to Thee
And make Thy name their trust.
6. They dread Thy glittering tokens, Lord,
When signs in Heav’n appear;
But they shall learn Thy holy Word,
And love as well as fear.

Dear heavenly Father, help me to find peace in your unchanging nature as I live each day, ready for Your return.
