Scripture Union Daily Guide 22 October 2025 Outline

In Job 36:5-7, Elihu expatiated the principle of, “You reap what you sow.” This shows that God deals with us as we deserve. He is gracious and mighty, firm in His purposes as He administers justice. According to Job 36:8-12, God’s approach is to correct what is wrong and redeem the sinner (compare 2 Peter 3:9). We have the liberty to choose to obey Him or reject His correction, but we must face the consequence of our decision. Notice God’s purpose for our suffering in Job 36:13-16 (compare Romans 5:3-5). Identify the series of warnings contained in Job 36:17-21 as we go through afflictions. Our attitude towards afflictions will determine how much we benefit from them spiritually (see James 1:2-3,12).

God is truly beyond our human understanding (Job 36:22-26). We cannot know Him completely. We can only know Him in part. Our little knowledge should, however, lead us to worship and praise Him. So also should our appreciation of the works of God’s hand and His divine ability to sustain His creation (Job 36:27-33).
