The false prophets have become obstacle to the people of God. What are some of the evils they engage in which they claim are from the Lord (Jeremiah 23:25-26)? What were their intentions (Jeremiah 23:27,30)? When God is against the leaders, there is bound to be trouble in the land.
Notice the part God’s word plays in our lives and the community of His people (Jeremiah 23:29). As the leaders engage in these evils, they pitch themselves against God. How do Jeremiah 23:31-32 challenge you? Sometimes the actions of the people encourage the prophets to prophesy lies to them (Jeremiah 23:35-38). The judgment of God is released on both the community and those who encourage the false prophets.
Today we have people especially in our continent who hop from one church to the other or from one minister to the other instead of engaging with the Scriptures to activate God’s blessings for their lives. If we would only spend our time to seek God’s will from the pages of His word and build our relationship with Him, we will not be led astray.

Prayer for the Week
Pray for all our church leaders, that they will commit themselves to preaching and teaching the wholesome truth of God’s word.
Pray that God will deliver them from every form of wickedness by which they put God’s people in perpetual bondage.
