Once more, the Lord used humbling rebukes to cause Job to think. “Surely, you know, for you were already born and you have lived so many years” (Job 38:21). While Job had already lived a long time and was known to have given wise counsel, he had not lived enough or grown wise enough to answer the questions posed to him by God. Job could not fathom the mysteries and expanse of the universe (Job 38:31-35).
In Job 38:25-35 God is shown to control both the regular patterns of weather as well as the irregularities in weather. Undoubtedly, human knowledge concerning the natural world has grown impressively since the days of Job, still, we will never uncover or understand even a fraction of what there is to know. Thus, creation will forever perplex the human mind and testify to the glory of God. Notice the countless number of times that God’s word speaks about the majesty and glory of God’s creation (Matthew 6:28-29; Psalms 19:1-6)
