Scripture Union Daily Guide 30th January 2026 — Outline
Our commitment to God does not exempt us from challenges of life. The Lord says, “when you pass through the waters, I will be with you” (Isaiah 43:2). Note the actions taken by the Centurion in Luke 7:3,6-8; that he built the synagogue did not make him proud, rather, he sought the Lord earnestly with humility and faith. Our Lord Jesus was pleased with the centurion’s faith and that resulted in the answer to his request. Just a word from Jesus will make everything that is wrong to be right. Only believe.
Think about the situation in Luke 7:11-12. How can you describe Jesus’ timely intervention? What new lessons can you learn about Jesus from Luke 7:13-15? This widow will never forget what Jesus did for her at a time when all hope was lost. There was no one else to help, she was surrounded by mere sympathizers. Are there situations you are going through that appear irreversible? Do not lose hope. Talk to Jesus about it. He will deliver you.
Prayer of Faith
Proverbs 31:8-9
Insight
* Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, please come into this very situation that is challenging my peace. Show up for me and give me victory for the glory and praise of your holy name.
