TOPIC: THE GUILT OFFERING!
OPENING PRAYER: May my heart, O Lord, be receptive to your word as I meditate on it.
SCRIPTURE: LEVITICUS 5:14-6:7

Question(s) for Reflection
* Q 1: What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
* Q2: Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

Scripture Union Daily Guide 4 June 2024 Outline:

God specially identified some guilts His people might commit and there are some vital lessons to learn from such. First, it may be unintentional, but the offender is equally guilty. No man can claim to be righteous before God (Isaiah 64:6). Causing a damage to sacred property requires that one offers a guilt offering, and make restitution (vs.15,16). This category of sin requires sacrifice of a ram (vs.15, 6:6).

Furthermore, what constitutes a guilt goes beyond damaging sacred property. In the way we conduct business, interpersonal, and social engagements may bring about some guilt in our dealings. Read 6:1-5 again and do some soul-searching in your religious and social duties to fellowman. Are you guilty of any of these, including your bank transactions and the way you handle finances entrusted to your care?

Public officials might think that when they embezzle public funds, they do it against the public. Today, we learn that whatever we do against the people we serve, either in Church or government, we do it against the Lord.

Read the story of Zacchaeus in Luke 19:1-10 and see how Jesus handled this category of guilt in the home of a public official. God calls us to the same standard of Zacchaeus for all those who have made themselves rich through mismanagement of public funds.

Closing Prayer
Jesus my High Priest, please forgive all the sins I have committed (6:7) and cleanse me with your precious blood that was shed on the cross for all mankind.

Offer a prayer of faith in line with 1 Peter 5:6 ‐ 7
