Outline For Scripture Union Daily Guide 5 March 2023

This psalm comes from one who seems to face acute frustrations. His opponents are criticizing him, bitterly accusing him of wasting his time in “God matters”. See vs.3,9b-10. Are you facing similar frustrations because friends and close relatives are criticizing you for spending more time for God?

Read carefully vs.1,2, 4-6 and find out how the writer resolves his difficulties. Check the following: The psalmist
Sets his heart entirely on God. He obviously is a very prayerful person in close link with God. See v.8. Calls to mind some of the memorable times he has had in the house of the Lord.

Addresses his soul and encourages it to rise up in hope and praise. Check from 1 Samuel 30:6 and see what David did when he faced extreme discouragement in his life.

The Holy Spirit in the life of a Christian will enable him to express his confidence in the Lord in difficult situations and so be restored to normal life again.

Lord Jesus, let my hope rest in you alone.


And God is able to make all grace abound towards you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. – 2 Corinthians 9:8

► His unmerited favour we enjoy daily as we work in His Vineyard.
► The goodness, mercy and love of God over our lives.

► The new National Chairman and his team that the grace of God will be sufficient unto them as they take up the mantle of leadership.
► The new National Prayer Secretary that God will guide her/him to continue to encourage us all to pray for SU Nigeria and beyond.
► All the new team will need, to perform all the task God will assign to them in their tenure.
► Journey mercies as the SU National Council members travel back home.

► Confusion, accidents or any distraction on the road.
► Failing to pray for the new National Chairman and the National Council.
