Scripture Union Daily Guide 9 November 2024: Severely Tested, Yet Untainted

Daily Guide Devotional For Today 9th November 2024 (Saturday)

TOPIC: SEVERELY TESTED, YET UNTAINTED
OPENING PRAYER: Sanctify my life dear Lord as I study your word in Jesus name.
SCRIPTURE: DANIEL 6:1-13

Question(s) for Reflection
•Q1: What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
* Q2: Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?
•Q3: What truth is God revealing to me in this passage?

Scripture Union Daily Guide 9 November 2024 Outline:

Daniel’s qualities that caused the new king, Darius, make Daniel one of the Ministers in his new cabinet. He further considered appointing him the Presiding Minister. This immediately provoked jealousy in the other Ministers. Consider what they found out (v.4), said (v5) and did in vs.6-8. Can the same thing be said about you by your colleagues in the office? The extent to which you
are controlled by the Holy Spirit will show up by the impact of your life in that office.

Meditate on v.10 again. If you were in Daniel’s position, what would have been your reaction? The quality of your prayer life and intimacy with God determines your attitude and reaction in any moment of crisis. King Darius was manipulated to sign the decree that was to destroy Daniel
(v.9). See the amount of pressure Daniel’s enemies put on the king.

Do you compromise your stand and conviction when under pressure from your spouse, colleagues in the office or friends, or are you guilty of forcing others to dance to your godless ways? Every evil action of which we fail to repent has grave consequence.
