SEEDS OF DESTINY 8 August 2025 Friday SOD Devotional
TOPIC: THE NECESSITY OF SPIRITUAL FIRE.
SCRIPTURE: And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty. 2 KING 1:10
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When there is a shortage of fire, evil will continue to thrive.
A story was told about Daisy Osborn, the wife of T. L. Osborn. She encountered a native doctor or witchdoctor in Latin America with a very big snake coiled around his neck and the whole community appeared to be bowing for that snake. She looked at the witchdoctor with audacity and said, “Give that thing to me.” The man exclaimed, “What?” She repeated, “I said give it to me!” She collected the supposed snake, and it became a stick in her hand. That singular encounter instantly turned the heart of everyone in that vicinity to God.
You see, the world we live in requires every believer to carry spiritual fire. Whether you are a pastor, businessman, etc. the possession of spiritual fire is non-negotiable. We live in a dark world, and you cannot afford to exist without fire.
As a Christian, when you step into a village that is infested with witchcraft, the atmosphere should change and become unbearable for those witches and wizards. The truth is, when there is a shortage of fire, evil will continue to thrive. When light refuses to shine, darkness will find expression.
Now, why is spiritual fire necessary? Spiritual fire eliminates opposition and secures your position.
There are satanic or enemy oppositions that hinder many people from securing their God-given positions in life. The truth is, as far as opposition thrives, the position is not secured.
Therefore, you need to walk in a dangerous dimension of fire to eliminate enemy opposition to your life and ministry. You need fire to secure your God-given position in life and destiny.
Remember this: When there is a shortage of fire, evil will continue to thrive.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Spend time with God, the consuming fire, to acquire spiritual fire.
2. Refuse to watch evil or darkness thrive in your generation.
PRAYER: Father, help me to permanently maintain spiritual fire. I command every opposition standing against my life and destiny to be eliminated by Fire, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

ABOUT: Dr. Paul Enenche is a distinguished Nigerian pastor, medical doctor, gospel singer, and author. He is the founder and senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria. Born on June 4, 1968, in Otukpo, Benue State, he transitioned from a medical career to full-time ministry in 1996, following a divine calling.
