Seeds of Destiny Devotional Today — 5 October 2025 | Dr Paul Enenche
TOPIC: FROM WASTAGE TO POVERTY.
SCRIPTURE: The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. PROVERBS 10:22.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Money is in a hurry to disappear where there is waste.
The Bible has been confirmed to be the best book on management on earth. All principles of success in every area of human endeavour are available in the Scripture.
Our anchor scripture says, the Blessing of the Lord, it MAKETH rich… The word ‘maketh’ signifies process. There is a process, a making that ends a person in the realm of wealth. In the same manner, there is a making, a process that pushes one into poverty.
Today, we shall X-ray one of the things that processes people into poverty: that is A LIFE OF WASTE.
A life of waste is a hindrance to financial dominion. No wonder, Proverbs 18:9 says, He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.
So, the destiny of the waster and that of the slothful are the same – poverty. A waster will end in poverty. The way of waste is the way of want and scarcity. Show me a waster, and I will show you someone in perpetual need. The truth is that wealth is in haste to disappear where there is waste. Money is in a hurry to disappear where there is waste. Money flees from the direction of bad managers or wasters and flees in the direction of good managers.
In most cases, the poor become poorer, and the rich become richer because poor people do the things that make them poorer, and rich people do the things that multiply their wealth and make them richer.
Concerning the prodigal son, Luke 15:13 says, And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. Verse 14 says, And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
You see, scarcity, lack and want are usually the outcomes of waste. Famine will always arise to confront a waster. The prodigal son began to be in want after wasting his substance. So, waste precedes want; before every want is waste. And where there is waste, want cannot be avoided.
Beloved, eliminate every form of waste in your life, and you will eliminate want and accelerate wealth.
Remember this: Money is in a hurry to disappear where there is waste.
