TOPIC: THE PROFIT OF DILIGENCE.

SCRIPTURE: The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
PROVERBS 12:24

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Diligence is the answer to enemy opposition.

One of the ladders that God uses to take His people to the top is called Diligence. Our anchor scripture says, the hand of the diligent shall bear rule…

Diligence is the secret of rulership, while slothfulness or indolence is the reason for servitude as seen in the scripture (…the slothful shall be under tribute). That is, the diligent shall be on top and the slothful must be under. So, it is the lot of the slothful to remain under, and it is the destiny of the diligent to go over.

Beloved, diligence is the key to rulership. Diligence is the secret of eminence. Proverbs 22:29 says,
Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men. Diligence is the secret of relevance. The lazy shall be under, and the diligent shall be on top.

NOW, LET US HAVE A LOOK AT WHAT DILIGENCE IS.

1. Diligence is persistent productive labour.

2. Diligence is the combination of hard work and smart work. Hard work combined with smart work is diligence.

3. The Webster’s Dictionary defines diligence as “persistent hardworking effort in doing something.” It is not just hard work but persistent hard work. It is tireless work.

4. Diligence is tireless creative labour.

5. Diligence is doing your work with all your might (Ecclesiastes 9:10). It is giving your assignment everything it takes until it gives you everything it contains. It is pastoring with all your might, if you are a pastor. It is doing business with all your might as a businessperson. Any field of endeavour you find yourself, diligence is giving it all it takes.

Isaac, for example, labored wearilessly until he became unstoppable by the enemy. Diligence took him to the place of enlargement (Genesis chapter 26). Diligence is the answer to enemy opposition. The key to handling resistance is persistence.

Beloved, if you desire enlargement in life and destiny, if you desire existence at the top, it is diligent, tireless, smart labour that takes you there.

REMEMBER THIS: Diligence is the answer to enemy opposition.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make up your mind to be diligent in all you do.

2. Refuse to give up even if it appears as if your labour is not yielding appropriate results.

3. Work smart; trust God for strategies for a productive labour.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to be diligent in my assignment. I secure my place at the top as I engage in smart and tireless labour, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
