Dr Paul Enenche: Seeds of Destiny Devotional for Thursday, 11th December 2025
Seeds of Destiny Today SOD Devotional 11 December 2025
TOPIC: YOU ARE NOT LATE.
SCRIPTURE: Work hard and become a leader or be lazy and become a slave. PROVERBS 12:24 (NLT).
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: I don’t care how old you are, you can start again.
I once heard the story of a man called Colonel Sanders, the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). Prior to his becoming famous, he was operating a little restaurant. Then, at age 65, he experienced a setback: a new highway was constructed in his country, USA, and it diverted the flow of traffic away from his business location in Corbin, Kentucky. It happened that because of that newly constructed road, the location of his restaurant became hidden.
Vehicles were no longer moving towards where his business was.
That was how he ran out of business and started again from scratch at age 65 with a unique chicken recipe. As he began to advertise his recipe, almost everyone told him, “I don’t need it. I also know how to cook chicken.” But he defied the odds and kept pushing until he made almost 2,000 proposals.
Eventually, one of the proposals was successful. And the rest is history. Today, KFC is everywhere in America, Europe, and elsewhere in the world. The man died as a millionaire in dollars. Why? Because he decided to embrace diligence. He decided not to be tired out by opposition. And God is a rewarder of labour.
Beloved, I don’t care about your age; no matter how old you are, you can start again. If God started with Abraham at the age of 75, if He started with Moses at the age of 80, and with Caleb at the age of 85; I don’t care how old you are, you can start again.
It is also important to note that it doesn’t matter how much you fast and pray, if you are lazy, you have no reward with God. You may be 100% committed in church, maybe as a church worker or even a pastor; if you are always sleeping from morning till night, and from night till morning, wake up!
Some people are just roaming about, doing nothing serious with their lives, and are wondering why God is not blessing them.
God is only a rewarder of diligent labour. Diligence is one of the ladders God uses to take His people to the top. The hand of the diligent shall bear rule (Proverbs 12:24). Diligence is the secret of rulership while slothfulness is the reason for servitude.
Beloved, do you desire a place at the top? Be diligent. Refuse to be lazy. Never get discouraged by resistance or opposition. Keep working! Keep praying! Keep trusting God! And you will get to the top.
Remember this: I don’t care how old you are, you can start again.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Be determined to succeed no matter the condition around you.
2. Believe in God and believe in yourself.
3. Resist your resistance at the place of prayer and silence your opposition by your action.
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your thought towards me. It is a thought of good and not of evil. As I embrace diligence, take me to the top and give me my expected end, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
