Seeds of Destiny Today SOD Devotional 15th November 2025
TOPIC: AVOIDING THE CRASH OF DESTINY.
SCRIPTURE: And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. GENESIS 3:4-5
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Isolation is the foundation for temptation.
The Book of Genesis reveals to us in Chapters Two and Three the fall of man in the beginning of creation. Adam and Eve crashed out of God’s original plan and purpose for them and were driven out of the Garden of Eden. Thus, man went into everlasting frustration until Jesus Christ came to rescue man.
Today, we shall be looking at the pitfalls that led to the crash of the destiny of Adam and Eve so we can avoid them. If we must give birth to the purpose of God for our lives, we must avoid the pitfalls of Adam and Eve.
1. Independent existence
Eve and Adam craved to be independent of God (Genesis 3:4-5). The devil suggested: “Why don’t you like to be like God?” And Eve fell for the temptation. The question is, if you became like God, would you need God again? No!
Adam and Eve also appeared to have come to the point where they were not together in the Garden. For one reason or the other, it seemed like Adam was in one part of the Garden and Eve was in another part. That was when satan engaged Eve. Isolation is the foundation for temptation. The strategy of satan has not changed. When he wanted to destroy the destiny of Lot, he disconnected him from his godly uncle, Abraham.
2. Responsibility failure
This is failure to do what is expected of a person; it is also doing what is not expected of one. It usually leads to the crash of destiny. Adam seemed to have abdicated his responsibility as the head of the family while Eve came to the point where she was making decisions on behalf of the family. The administration of the Garden was handed over to Adam before Eve was created (Genesis 2:15-18). They crashed in destiny because they decided to turn upside-down the pattern of Jehovah. Adam underplayed his role and Eve overstepped her bounds.
Beloved, do you want to fulfil destiny? Don’t allow your life to become independent of God.
Remember this: Isolation is the foundation for temptation.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Refuse to fall into the temptation of running the affairs of your life without God; make God the Centre of your life.
2. Be responsible; remain where God has assigned you to be per time.
3. Make demands on the help of God to fulfil your destiny.
PRAYER: Father, I refuse to exist independent of You. Help me to fulfil my destiny, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
