Sunday Scripture Reading Plan for the Week: 7 Days of Bible Reading (Oct 4 to 10)

Sunday Scripture Reading Plan for the Week: 7 Days of Bible Reading (Oct 4 to 10)
Starting the week with a plan makes it far easier to stay in God’s Word. This 7-day plan uses short passages (about five minutes a day), so it works for busy people in the USA, UK, Canada, Nigeria and anywhere else. The theme is walking with God through the week.
Why Follow a Weekly Reading Plan?
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105, KJV)
A plan removes the daily question of “What should I read?” and builds consistency. Even a few verses a day, read thoughtfully, can change your week.
The 7-Day Plan
Sunday, October 4: Gladness in Worship
Read: Psalm 122 and Hebrews 10:19-25
Think about: How can I encourage someone at church today?
Monday, October 5: Strength for the Week
Read: Isaiah 40:25-31
Think about: Where do I need my strength renewed?
Tuesday, October 6: Faith Over Fear
Read: Isaiah 41:8-13
Think about: What fear can I hand to God today?
Wednesday, October 7: God Is Our Refuge
Read: Psalm 46
Think about: What does it mean to “be still” in my situation?
Thursday, October 8: Peace and Gratitude
Read: Philippians 4:4-13
Think about: What can I thank God for before I make my next request?
Friday, October 9: Courage to Obey
Read: Joshua 1:1-9
Think about: What step of obedience is God asking me to take?
Saturday, October 10: Rest in the Shepherd
Read: Psalm 23 and Matthew 11:28-30
Think about: How has God shepherded me this week?
How to Get the Most From Each Reading
1. Pray First
Ask, “Lord, open my eyes to see wonderful things in Your law” (Psalm 119:18).
2. Read Slowly
Read the passage twice if you can. Let one phrase stand out.
3. Write One Line
Note one truth, one question or one promise in a notebook or phone.
4. Apply It
Choose one small action for the day.
5. Pray It Back
Finish by turning what you read into a short prayer.
Tips for Staying Consistent
- Read at the same time and place each day.
- Keep your Bible or Bible app where you can see it.
- Invite a friend or family member to follow the plan with you.
- If you miss a day, just continue the next day. There is no failure in Bible reading.
Closing Prayer
Father, thank You for Your Word. Give me a hunger to read it daily and the grace to live it out. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
