2 Timothy 3:14-17

What can I do to help others see Christ in me?

We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. – Ephesians 2:10 (KJV)

One of my hobbies is painting landscapes. I enjoy looking at God’s creation and trying to portray my version of land, sky, and water on canvas. In order to paint, I have to study painting techniques and the best way to present natural elements of the earth. It is about mixing colors and using the proper shapes, lighting, and perspective. The more I learn about nature, the better I am able to paint because I understand my subject. If I am successful, others can see and understand my paintings and hopefully be inspired by them.

The verse quoted above tells us that God has created us with the potential for doing good works through Jesus Christ. The reading from 2 Timothy talks about the value of Bible study. The more we study, pray, and meditate on God’s word in the Bible, the better we understand who God is. When God’s word becomes part of us through the Holy Spirit, the better we can portray Christ to others when they hear our words and see our actions. When we do this, we become God’s witness and exhibit his workmanship. Let us be a portrait of Christ for God’s glory throughout the world.

Our Father, help us to know you better through the study of scripture. May your Holy Spirit enable us to be your example in this world so that others will see Christ through us. Amen.

PRAYER OF SALVATIONA MINUTE PRAYER COULD SAVE YOU “O Lord God, I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ, Son of the living God. I believe He died for me and God raised Him from the dead. I believe He’s alive today. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from this day. Through Him and in His Name, I have eternal life; I’m born again. Thank you Lord for saving my soul! I’m now a child of God. Hallelujah!” Congratulations! You are Born Again... Get closer to God by reading your BIBLE and worshiping with other believers.
