Luke 6:47-48 (KJV): “Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.”
🔎 Devotional Thought
Every structure is only as strong as its foundation. Jesus compares those who hear His words and live by them to a wise builder who lays a foundation on the rock. Life’s storms are inevitable—trials, temptations, betrayals, and spiritual battles will come. But when your foundation is Christ, you cannot be shaken.
The floods may rise, the winds may blow, but the house will stand firm because it is anchored in the Word of God. Many collapse under pressure because they build on sand—human wisdom, fleeting emotions, and worldly principles. But when you choose obedience to Christ’s teachings, you secure unshakable stability.
🙏 Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, thank You for being my solid Rock and sure foundation. Help me not only to hear Your Word but to live it daily. No storm of life shall uproot me, for I am rooted in Christ Jesus. Strengthen my faith and keep me standing firm, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
