Today’s Devotional For Saturday 2nd August 2025 | Message
Theme: Striving in Prayer
Bible Verse: Colossians 4:12 (KJV)
“Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.”
Today’s Message:
In today’s verse, we meet Epaphras, a man described as a fervent prayer warrior. His ministry was not from the pulpit or through music, but through intercession. He “laboured fervently” — not casually or occasionally, but persistently and with intensity.
This shows us the power of intercessory prayer. Epaphras wasn’t praying for himself but for others to stand firm and mature in God’s will. Many of us are quick to complain about people or situations, but few are willing to labour in prayer for change.
Prayer is not passive. True prayer is work. It’s warfare. It’s a spiritual commitment that births divine results.
As we begin this new month of August, God is calling us to deep intercession — for our families, our churches, our nations, and ourselves. Don’t just pray general prayers; pray targeted, fervent, Spirit-led prayers that touch Heaven and shake Earth.
Other Scripture References:
James 5:16 — “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
Romans 8:26 — “The Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”
1 Thessalonians 5:17 — “Pray without ceasing.”
Today’s Declaration:
Today, I receive the grace to pray fervently and effectively.
I am empowered to stand in the gap for others.
As I intercede, God moves mightily in every situation.
I shall see results. I shall see answers. I shall see transformation!
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Today’s Prayer:
Father, thank You for showing me the example of Epaphras. Stir in me a burden to pray, not just for myself but for others. Teach me how to pray with passion and persistence. May my prayers bring change, healing, and alignment with Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Today’s Challenge:
Take 10 minutes today to intercede for someone specifically — a friend, your pastor, or a nation in crisis. Name them before God and pray earnestly.
