Joel Osteen Sunday Devotional 17th January 2021 – Taste and See

You are reading Today’s Daily Devotional for Sunday 17th January 2021, written by Joel & Victoria Osteen. God bless you as you study through.

TODAY’S TOPIC: TASTE AND SEE

Today’s Scripture: Psalm 34:8, NIV
Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

Today’s Word On Joel Osteen Sunday Devotional 17th January 2021

When Moses led the Israelites toward the Promised Land, they never went in because they complained and had wrong mind-sets. That generation wandered in the wilderness for forty years, only hearing and dreaming about the land flowing with milk and honey, hoping it would become theirs. But they died without ever seeing it come to pass.

Joshua led the next generation that had a different mind-set that took them into the Promised Land. They didn’t just hear about the land of abundance, they conquered and lived in it. They tasted the great clusters of grapes their parents had only seen. Sometimes thoughts will tell you, “What you’re dreaming about will always only be a dream, just a wish and a hope.” The good news is that you are a part of the Joshua generation.

You’re not going to just dream the dream; you’re going to live your dream. You’re going to taste the grapes, taste the abundance, taste the healing, and taste the freedom.

Prayer for Today: “Father, thank You for the invitation to taste and see just how good You are. Thank You that the dream You’ve put in my heart will come to pass and not remain just a dream. I believe I’m a part of the Joshua generation, and You’re taking me into the Promised Land. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

About Joel Osteen
Raised in Houston, Texas, with a loving family of seven and world-renowned parents in full-time ministry, Joel Osteen never imagined that he would follow so closely in his father’s footsteps. As a young man, his training and interests were behind the scenes in television production, though he was close to his father in ministry.

“There’s no greater feeling than being able to help people rise higher and overcome something and feel better about themselves. I think that we’re all made to help others, to lift people UP.” – JOEL OSTEEN

His father always encouraged him to preach, but Joel would politely decline time and time again until one day in October 1999 when his father was admitted to the hospital with kidney complications. Joel finally agreed to preach the next Sunday, and his father passed the following week. Joel’s first sermon was the last his father ever heard. Joel and his wife, Victoria, were suddenly thrust into full-time leadership of Lakewood Church.
