TODAY’S TOPIC: REJOICE GREATLY!

TEXT: Zechariah 9:9-12(NKJV)
9. ” Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He [is] just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.
10. I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim And the horse from Jerusalem; The battle bow shall be cut off. He shall speak peace to the nations; His dominion [shall be] ‘from sea to sea, And from the River to the ends of the earth.’
11. ” As for you also, Because of the blood of your covenant, I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.
12. Return to the stronghold, You prisoners of hope. Even today I declare [That] I will restore double to you.

TODAY’S DAILY FOUNTAIN STUDY:

Today’s passage, inspired by the Spirit of God through Zechariah, was very prophetic concerning the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ. Among other things, Zechariah used certain attributes to refer to this King: (1) He will take away the chariots and the war-horses; (2) The battle bow will be broken; (3) He will proclaim peace; (4) He will free the prisoners from the waterless pit; (5) He will restore twice to the people. These are all references to the kind of peace that Christ comes to give. The greatest mistake that humanity has made is to leave Christ out of its life and relationships.

When Christ is left out of our lives, the result is internal turbulence, frustrations and defeat. When Christ is left out of a marriage or a family, the consequences are catastrophic: Quarrels, mutual distrust, self-centredness, irreconcilable differences and, ultimately, divorce. When Christ is left out of the society, the consequences are even more devastating, as we see today. Christ is the only One that can bring peace to our lives, homes and society. He is the Prince of peace (Isaiah 9:6). See also John14:27 and Mark 4:39. With Jesus in your life, you can rejoice greatly!

PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, I invite you into my life, my home and my daily experiences. May your Peace bring great joy to me. Amen.
