ANGLICAN DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL FOR 6 FEBRUARY 2022
TOPIC: HE RECONCILED ALL THINGS
TEXT: Colossians 1:15-20(NKJV)
15. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
16. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
17. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
18. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
19. For it pleased [the Father that] in Him all the fullness should dwell,
20. and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
Anglican Daily Fountain 6th February 2022 | STUDY
Jesus Christ made it all and Jesus Christ paid it all. He is responsible for creation of all things in heaven and earth, visible and invisible. He supervises the cohesive work and effort of all things. He is the head of the church, the first born from the dead. All fullness dwells in Him. When He Created the world, everything was very good (Gen. 1:31). The devil came to the world to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus gives us life in abundance (John 10:10). What sin disrupted; Jesus restored.

Jesus made peace through the blood on the cross, thereby reconciling all things to himself, both things in heaven and on earth. His peace-making was to restore the harmony of the original creation. Reconciliation means to bring back a former state of harmony (Strong Concordance of New Testament words). It means a return to Jesus through his death on the cross, the disrupted relationship of mankind with God.
Therefore, when we take the responsibility of making peace, we are aligning ourselves with God’s wonderful purpose by making Jesus the Lord of our lives and living daily for him. We have been given the ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:15, 18-21). Therefore, once reconciled, reconcile others to God.
Prayer: Thank you Lord for reconciling us to God through Your death on the cross. May we be part of your ministry of reconciliation. May we find peace with you. Amen.
