Today’s Insight ✨
In this verse, Paul the Apostle gives an important instruction to believers about how they should live their lives. Instead of allowing themselves to be controlled by worldly influences, Paul encourages Christians to be filled with the Spirit of God.
Being “drunk with wine” represents losing control and being influenced by something that leads to excess and poor judgment. In contrast, being filled with the Spirit means allowing God’s presence to guide our thoughts, attitudes, and actions.
When believers are filled with the Spirit, their lives begin to reflect God’s character. The Spirit produces qualities such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and self-control—attributes that help Christians live in a way that honors God and positively impacts others.
This verse also highlights the importance of continual spiritual renewal. Being filled with the Spirit is not a one-time event but an ongoing experience that comes through prayer, worship, studying God’s Word, and maintaining a close relationship with Jesus Christ.
