TOPIC: THE SIMPLICITY OF TRUSTING GOD
SCRIPTURE: For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. – John 3:16 (AMPC)
The pathway to God is not perfect performance. Some people in a crowd asked Jesus what they needed to do to please God, and the answer Jesus gave was, “Believe in the One Whom He has sent” (see John 6:28–29).
That is so simple we can miss it. We need to believe in Jesus? That’s it? Surely God wants more from us than that!
More than anything, God wants us to trust Him and to believe His Word. You can get off the treadmill of trying to be perfect, because you cannot buy or earn God’s love or His favor, not even with a perfect performance. It simply is not for sale.
Prayer of the Day: Lord, I choose to believe Your promises, trusting in Your timing. Help me to walk in faith, even when I don’t see anything changing. I know freedom is coming, amen.
