MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR WEDNESDAY 20TH OCTOBER 2021

TOPIC: NEVER LOOK BACK

Fire Scripture: Gen 19:1-29; Luke 17:32-36

MFM Devotional 20 October 2021 Wednesday | Outline

Today, we will examine the biblical account of the destruction of heightened sin, voided consciences and buried morality found in the twin cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. The angels that were dispatched to these cities had previously been in the presence of Abram but they were three. Two of them actually came to rescue lot before they destroyed the city.

Why? It was because Abram had been pleading with God not to destroy the cities if they found ten righteous people in the city. Abram had heard about the call long before Lot, and he immediately went into prayer for Lot and his family. Lot begged the angels to come home with him for the evening. He prepared not just a meal but a banquet for them.

Lot did not tell the people of Sodom and Gomorrah about the living God; he just went about his business. The question today is what have you compromised for today? What has become more important to you than following after the God that you said you love and serve? Lot heard it internally, because he listened and understood what the angels were saying and what was required of him.

MOUNTAIN TOP LIFE MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY DR. D.K OLUKOYA

He knew they were not mere men but messengers from God, because the angels had blinded the men of the city for a while. How are you handling the call of God placed before you? What has God called you from? Are you using your prosperity for him? Just as the angels had a message attached to the call for Lot, the Lord has said that He is coming again for a church without spot or wrinkle.

How will he find you? Will He find you unprepared and loaded with sin and worldly care or will you be ready to go? The angels had to finally take Lot along with two of his daughters and force them out. The instruction they were given was “Don’t look back and don’t stay in the valley. Go to the mountain.” However, Lot’s wife looked back and became a pillar of salt. What a pity! Her looking back was a direct disobedient act towards God. Jesus said “Whoever loses his life will preserve it.” Beloved, no matter what happens in your journey of faith, don’t look back and don’t give up. Trust God and He will help you.

Memory Verse:
Luke 17:32 -Remember Lot’s wife!

Motivational Quote:
The only time you should ever look back is to see how far you’ve come, keep your head up and look forward.

Prophetic Word:
Problems that will make you go the wrong way; heaven shall cancel them now, in the name of Jesus.

MORNING
1. Holy Spirit, help me to forsake all worldly things, in the name of Jesus.
2. Whether my enemies like it or not, I shall move forward by fire, in the name of Jesus.
3. Power that wants to drag me back, die, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. Power as of old, enter into my life, in the name of Jesus.
5. My tomorrow shall be better than my today, in the name of Jesus
6. Ever y spirit of Sodom and Gomorrah in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
7. O Lord my Father, deliver me unto the uttermost, in the name of Jesus.
