You are reading MFM Daily Devotional for Today Sunday 28th March 2021; written by Pastor D.K Olukoya. May you be blessed as you read on.

TOPIC: MAKE A PROOF OF YOUR PRIESTHOOD (I)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Matt. 19:13-15; 18:1-6

TODAY’S OUTLINE: MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 28TH MARCH 2021 SUNDAY

Children, though small and sometimes, helpless human, yet they mean so much to God and are close to His heart. God is the ultimate Parent. Every adult today was a child yesterday. If viewed correctly, parenting is a cycle, going from one parent getting old and giving birth to another potential parent. We are all from a parent and we give birth to future parents.

Summarily, both parents and children are God’s. At whatever level of parenting you are, you are like a labourer in God’s vineyard – a steward that must faithfully render his or her service to the Master, such that you receive a “well done worthy servant” commendation from the Almighty. My first question, parent, are you ready to discharge your duty faithfully and without bias?

Can God trust you with His heritage? Will you build this life for Him? Can He commit this life into your hands? Hope you won’t fail Him like Eli? He lost two potential priests and eventually lost the priesthood even to the extent of bringing the divine curse of destruction upon his generation (I Sam 3:14). What a calamity! What a tragedy! A serious matter indeed!

It was all because the father of the house failed to prove his priesthood. He lost his divine position as the father of the house and the priest in the house. He failed God by shying away from meting out appropriate discipline to his children. Hear the word of God. Failure to watch over the children that God has given you or put under your care brings grave consequences.

You have failed God and rendered the child incapable of fulfilling destiny There are also compromising parents! Oh! You don’t want to lose the favour of your child? Therefore, you allow him or her to do as he or she desires. It happened to Samson’s parents. Did I hear you say they were not to blame? But they subtly consented to every desire to marry a woman against the will of God.

No wonder each time this evil desire came up the Bible used the tune “went down” (Judges). I pray your children shall not go down the pit of destruction, in Jesus’ name. Silence means consent! Samson fell on Delilah’s laps, lost his glorious destiny and died with his enemies. Dear parent, children are not given to you to raise themselves.

They are gifts and blessings from God, to be loved and cherished, but also disciplined and rebuked, if and when necessary. Don’t shy away from this divine role. Don’t commit the responsibility to another – a maid, a brother, sister, friend or neighbour. It is a glorious ministry and service to God and to mankind. Play your role and prove your calling!

The future of our Church depends on whatever we do with our children today. They must be shaped and moulded according to God’s standard.

Memory Verse: Psalm 127:3 – “Lo, Children are a heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”

Motivational Quote: Children are precious in the sight of the Lord. Place great value on them.

Prophetic Word: Your reward over your children shall not be given to another, in the name of Jesus.

HYMN: Jesus Loves Me, This I Know

1. Jesus loves me, this I know,
For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong,
They are weak, but He is strong.

Chorus
Yes, Jesus loves me,
Yes, Jesus loves me,
Yes, Jesus loves me,
The Bible tells me so.

2. Jesus loves me! He who died
Heaven’s gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come in.

3. Jesus loves me! He will stay
Close beside me all the way,
Then His little child will take
Up to heaven, for His dear sake.

PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING:
1) O God, arise and teach my children by Yourself, in the name of Jesus.
2) Glory killers, destiny aborters, my children are not your candidate, die, in the name of Jesus.
3) My children’s future is secured in Christ, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING:
4) I shall not fail God over my children, in the name of Jesus.
5) Power to raise my children in conformity with divine standard, come upon me now, in the name of Jesus.
