MFM Daily Devotional 26th April 2023: Message

We all have burdens and concerns that keep us thinking and worried. That is because we are humans and we have emotions. In Matthew 28:20, Jesus, the Saviour of the world, promised that He would be with you until the end of time. The promise of Jesus to the disciple that provided them comfort and energy in their Christian race also helped them to overcome adversity. The promise is also made available for you today. When troubles come knocking the door, hold on to this promise.

Ludie Pickett wrote the hymn “Never Alone”. The words of the hymn are profound and instructive. Some of the lines of this song of encouragement say:

I’ve seen the lighting flashing

And heard the thunder roll Which tried to conquer my soul

I’ve heard the voice of my Saviour He bid me fight on
He promised never to leave me Never to leave me alone

Chorus:
No, never alone, no never alone
He promised never to leave me Never to leave me alone
No, never alone, no never alone
He promised never to leave me Never to leave me alone.

Beloved this is exactly what our Fire Scripture is telling you today. In Isaiah 43:2, God promised that “when you passe through water, through river and through fire, He would be with you just as He was with the three Hebrew men in the fiery furnace in Daniel 3:23-25. The fourth man in the fire will be with you, in Jesus’ name.
When Hagar fell out with Sarah, her mistress, she became stranded in the wilderness and feared for the life of Ishmael, her baby. The angel of the Lord appeared to her there.

Though a deserted place where no man was available to help her, God was there with her and saw all her pain. That is why God is called Jehovah Roi. He sees you wherever you are and in whatever condition you may be. He is also called Jehovah Shammah. He is the omnipresent God who is always there with His children. Isn’t it comforting and reassuring that God sees what you are passing through; He is in it with you and He will save you? You are never alone. God is with you always.
