MFM Devotional for 5th May 2022 Thursday Outline

In continuation of yesterday’s discourse, we are all expected to pass through some life experiences that may not be desirable. At the same time, as Christians we should come out better and stronger, so much more that we become a point of encouragement for others in the body of Christ.

As we undergo this divine process of shaping and pruning, we are also expected to bring forth enduring fruits. It becomes important therefore that you cannot remain the same as you journey through this divine process. Your life, personality, perspective, and entire character must experience a deep transformation that actually makes you a new man, a new woman! This happened to men and women that we read about in the scriptures.

No matter how painful or ugly their situation was, it didn’t give them testimonies alone, but most importantly they became people of God. Sarah laughed. Hannah worshipped God. And Elizabeth shared her joy with others after many years of barrenness. In fact, her other name was “barren”. It was that bad! But the barren became a fruitful woman. You can experience the same. Just wait on the Lord.

In all of these, these men and women remained steadfast, committed and devoted to God in all their ways. God was equally delighted in them. The same is expected of anyone undergoing the process of longsuffering. There should be no murmuring, grumbling or complaining but enduring patiently. Allowing God to have His way and to work His work is the only positive response that brings forth the divine result and fulfilment of God’s promises without fail (Isaiah 40:30-31).

Are you ready to suffer for long under God’s monitoring eye without negative comparison, impatience and hasty spirit? He has the measuring gauge in His hands. He determines the duration, the mode, the means and all other things that are included in the package. It may include stepping out of your comfort zone for a while like Abraham, Moses and David. It could be such a humbling experience like that of Joseph, or even afflictions like Job and the three Hebrew boys. Whatever it is, God will be there all the way and His name will be glorified.
