SUNDAY SERVICE 18th April 2021 – MINISTERING: DR D. K. OLUKOYA

MFM Live Sunday Service 18 April 2021 with Pastor D. K. Olukoya

TOPIC: CALEB’S VICTORIOUS FAITH (I)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Numbers:13:23-33

OUTLINE: MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 18TH APRIL 2021

Faith is seeing what is not there as if it is very visible for all to see. The twelve spies returned from an espionage mission to the land of Canaan. They brought back reports to Moses and the people of Israel. The people were eagar to hear the good news. However, what they got was not what they expected. The report of ten of the twelve spies had two dimensions to it.

God’s past faithfulness, leading them out of Egypt personally had not won their loyalty. They did not trust in God and His promises as regards their future, hence there was evil report (Numbers 13:32-33). The people of Israel sank into despondency and wept the whole night through. Do you believe like Joshua and Caleb? It can, at times, seem like that in our Christian lives as well.

We give up our old life to follow Jesus with high hopes of a better life. But then, our enemy, the sin in our life, looms up very large and threatening, seemingly impossible to overcome and we begin to say within us that serving our Saviour costs so much. Caleb spoke out; he even rent his clothes because of the people’s unbelief. God even testified to that. “But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land where unto he went, and his seed shall possess it” (Num. 14:24)

Victorious faith is seeing the promises of God in action. Has God said it, He will definitely bring it to pass. The “another spirit” that God attributed to Caleb can be described as the “it can be done spirit”. No matter what you see now. No matter who is involved, when God steps in, it can be done.

The spirit of victorious faith in Caleb made him to speak with boldness, not minding that majority of his colleagues in the espionage gave a different report. Victorious faith will give you victory before the battle and sink a well before thirst comes. Are you bold enough to hold on to the word of God? I encourage you to believe God’s word and it shall come to pass.

Memory Verse: Heb 11:1-2 – “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.”

Motivational Quote: Nothing meaningful can happen in your life, if faith is absent.

Prophetic Word: Believe the impossible and you will get the miraculous, in the name of Jesus.

HYMN: O for a faith that will not shrink
