“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” Romans 8:11
Open Heaven Teens 19th March 2022 | Message
No believer can live a victorious Christian life by his/her own effort and strength. As a matter of fact, it is impossible to enjoy the Christian journey without the help of the Holy Spirit. John 6:63 says it is the Spirit that quickens while the flesh profits nothing. This means that everything done based on your effort actually profits nothing. No wonder many Christians who work tirelessly and are proud of their achievements become angry when their efforts go unnoticed.
This is because they performed those feats by their power and expected men to applaud them. If you rely on the Holy Spirit to help you in all you do, you will do things effortlessly and not expect accolades from men, after all, they are not your source of strength. Many Christians do Gods work by their knowledge and thus become weary, tired and frustrated. It is so for them because they do not have the Holy Spirit. You need the Holy Spirit to quicken your body on a daily basis if you want to do it right.
My dear, God is not looking for your ability but your total dependence on Him. This is why His word says For without me ye can do nothing (John 15:5 ).
Point: There can be no lasting victory in our own effort. You need the Holy Spirit to work through you.
