Daily Guide 11th July 2022 | Scripture Union

Read and Meditate on Today’s  Scripture Union Daily Guide for Monday 11 July 2022. May the Lord bless you through His Word, Amen!

SCRIPTURE UNION DAILY GUIDE 11TH JULY 2022 DEVOTIONAL

Topic: Make Sure You Are God’s Best!

Opening Prayer: Oh Lord, fill me with the power of the Holy Ghost as I study your word.

Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:14‐26

Question(s) for Reflection
• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

Saint Paul vehemently stood against false teaching, including anything that could poison or distract God’s people. Hence, his pastoral letter truly advised or focused Timothy, his spiritual son cum assistant, on nothing but how to continue working hard, i.e., how to spread and live out the true message of God’s Kingdom. Deeply meditate on vs.14‐26.

Note some ways by which the Christian steward may or may not qualify for God’s approval (or certification). See vs.14‐21, 23, 25‐26 for why Paul cautions believers to strive for the best. So much wisdom abounds in Paul’s letters. Does God know as well as own you as a sanctified member (vessel) of His household? As Christ’s servant, are you loyal to Him? Are you diligently fulfilling the ministry God entrusted you?

Are you working hard to benefit God, to fully enrich our generation with what they should know and avoid; and ensure that others as well as you (unlike Hymenaeus and Philetus) are not entangled (subverted or ruined) by empty controversies, but endorsed by God?

Practice/Word Application
Memory Verse: 2 Timothy 2:20‐21.

• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

Closing Prayer
• Dear Lord, help me to always remember as well as do the work of an approved workman of Christ.

Offer a prayer of faith in line with
Luke 12:32; 2 Kings 21, 22; Psalms 66
