Scripture Union Daily Guide 29 October 2026 Outline
Quite a few leaders in Africa (church and society) often see themselves as indispensable. They think that without them, their institutions would fall apart. If there is anyone that should rightly have that view of himself, it is Moses. Notice the concluding remarks about Him in Deuteronomy 34:10-12. Like in every film, “The End” did come and Moses had to quit the stage as we all would one day.
When we remember how Moses started his journey, one cannot but admit that nothing we achieve is due to our strength or ability. It is all by God’s grace alone. A timid, reluctant stammerer became a great prophet who is only compared to Christ (Deuteronomy 18:18). We should also note:
1. That God will not condone sin, more so from His servants (Deuteronomy 34:4-5; cf. Numbers 20:2-13). Our close walk with God does not give us the right to do His work the way we please. Failure to adhere strictly to God’s standard will attract His wrath.
2. That a great leader identifies and mentors a great successor (Deuteronomy 34:9). It is said that ‘success without a successor is failure.’
And So:
For more testimonies of Moses’ life see Numbers 12:3; Hebrews 3:2; Hebrews 11:25. What a true man of God he was! What testimony will you leave behind when the end finally arrives?
