Scripture Union Daily Guide 28 October 2026 Outline

Moses ended blessing the children of Israel by reminding them of the source of all their past blessings. Jeshurun (Deuteronomy 33:26), the upright one, is a poetic reference to the people of Israel. Moses was confident to call rebellious Israel the upright ones because of their relationship with the Lord their God. Their righteousness, as well as ours, is derived from the Lord only. It is the reason he could confidently proclaim these blessings on his people.

Moses reminded them to look back at what God has done for them to gain confidence as they face the challenges ahead of them. The God who led them through the wilderness in the pillars of cloud and fire, who carried them on His shoulders these forty years remains solidly with them.

Notice therefore the assurances that he gave them concerning the enemies they would soon be facing (Deuteronomy 33:27b,29) and the land they were looking forward to possessing (Deuteronomy 33:28). We must always remind ourselves that our God is unique. He delivers His children completely. With Him in the vessel, we can smile at the storms of life.
